The Biosampo Training and Research Centre (BTRC) of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk)

provides bioeconomy training for hands-on experts in a continuous research platform within a unique, practical, learning environment. We aim to develop methods which help to improve soil fertility, increase access to clean water and use waste-based energy in a sustainable manner.

What do we train? Decentralised local production, sustainable usage of renewable energy, co-production of electricity, heating and cooling, and manufacturing of important environmental commodities such as biochar and purified drinking water.
